Mission

The DSS mission is to ethically empower our partners to solve the world’s biggest challenges and achieve their biggest goals. We fulfill this mission by rapidly deploying solutions to consequential organizations agnostic of their levels of need and complexity. In the end, we seek to consistently take an active role in restoring dignity, preserving life, and enhancing safety. Our mission is fortified by our passion for excellence on behalf of the greater good. Our organization provides technology, professional, and engineering services to government and private sector clients alike.

Shelter Operation

CFRC is a program which responds to U.S. immigration needs. The migration of children from Central America and across the world to the U.S. without their parents or care takers is a humanitarian crisis. We are dedicated to the holistic care of these unaccompanied children, primarily providing shelter management and direct care to children ages 13-17. Through case management, education, medical and clinical services, as well as recreational activities, CFRC provides a safe and care filled environment alongside the primary goal of reunification.

Clinical

Department provides guidance to each child through an intake assessment, as well as individual, family, and group counseling sessions. All services and therapeutic activities are tailored to the needs of each child.

Education

Department provides engaging curriculum instruction that mirrors the education style the children will be exposed to in the U.S. upon reunification. Our teachers begin with an assessment to determine individual academic levels. Children are placed in classes based on their academic skills and taught in the content areas of ESL, social studies, math, science, language arts, as well as basic health and physical education.

Medical

Department coordinates all health care services and treatment for all children. This department is responsible for all initial health assessments, monitoring and maintaining health records, administering any necessary medication, and monitoring COVID-19 guidelines and safety standards.

Recreation

Led by the direct care supervisor and staff. With an emphasis on cultural awareness and fun, the children participate in holiday based activities that are both celebrating their cultures and exposing them to the culture of the U.S. In addition, daily recreation is curated by the direct care staff to allow for diverse opportunities of expression such as arts and crafts, sports, carnival games, and piñata making.

Emergency Management

In Partnership with FEMA & Jacobs over the last 9 years, DSS has provided mass care services to the survivors of disaster for the eastern half of the U.S. steady state planning support, staffing for shelter operations, and the distribution emergency supplies, are just a few of the high-level tasks that we continue to contribute to these efforts.

Emergency Repatriation Services

DSS provided personnel for activated ERT sections (e.g., planning, information management and analysis, logistics) and personnel to staff IMT(s) activated sections; including OH&S personnel, deployment surge case managers, resource coordinators, and support staff (including administrative and financial management personnel) to support emergency operations in facilities identified by ACF OHSEPR.
